Muslims against Macron. France's war against Islam

Anti-French actions in the world

In the Muslim world, a wave of anger and indignation is growing at the statements of French President Emmanuel Macron on Islam and the Prophet Muhammad: protests against the French president have taken place in several countries.

France is at the epicenter of an international scandal about Islam. It all started with the murder of the French teacher Samuel Pati, who showed cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad in class. France reacted harshly to this: rallies were held across the country in memory of the teacher and the police arrested 11 people, including the killer’s parents, grandfather and younger brother, who turned out to be a Moscow-born Chechen. In all, France planned to expel more than 200 foreigners after the murder of a teacher.

French President Emmanuel Macron called the incident a terrorist attack, the teacher was posthumously awarded the country’s highest award – the Order of the Legion of Honor.

On October 29 in Nice, a criminal armed with a knife attacked visitors to the North Dame Basilica, shouting “Allahu Akbar!” He killed three people before being arrested.

And Muslims around the world are protesting against France and its president.

Protest actions

Macron provoked the ire of Muslims by stating that “Islam is a religion in crisis throughout the world.”

In Libya, Palestine, Yemen, Syria, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Iraq and several other countries of the Muslim world, actions were carried out against the policy of France: protesters burned the country’s flags and Macron’s photographs.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has publicly called Macron mentally ill.

In Moscow, protesters also burned a photo of the French president at the French embassy. The head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov and the mufti of the republic Salakh-Khadzhi Mezhiev, described Macron as a “terrorist”.

Even UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov spoke about the situation. The athlete published a corresponding post on his Instagram with a photo of French President Emmanuel Macron, on whose face is a shoe print. Nurmagomedov’s account is the most popular on the Russian Instagram segment, with 25 million subscribers.

May the Almighty disfigure the face of this creature and all his followers, who under the motto of freedom of expression offend the feelings of more than fifteen hundred million Muslim believers. May the Almighty humiliate you in this life and the next. Allah is quick in calculations and you will see it, ”Habib wrote.

Reforms in France

A series of attacks in France gave additional impetus to Macron’s plans to reform the practice of Islam in the country and, above all, foreign funding received by Muslim communities, in hopes of severing ties with radicals outside of France, writes The Washington Post.

The government also announced tough measures against more than 50 Muslim organizations suspected of inciting terrorist violence.

Their desire to intervene in the practice of religion is linked to an attempt to promote integration, but also to prevent the terrorist attacks that have been the victims of France in recent years.

International scandal

French officials were particularly outraged by the comments of Mahathir Mohamad, the former Malaysian prime minister, who tweeted that Muslims have the right to “kill millions of French people for the massacres of the past.” The French government immediately asked on Twitter to block Mahathir’s account for inciting hatred and violence. Later, his post was deleted.

At the same time, calls have already appeared in France to better control immigration and expel all radical foreigners from the country.
