Novgorod-Seversky Mayor Oleg Bondarenko died of complications from the coronavirus. This was stated by the secretary of the Novgorod-Seversky City Council, Yuri Lakoza, Suspilnoe reports on Thursday, October 29.

Bondarenko had a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19. He had bilateral pneumonia.

At the same time, Bondarenko, according to preliminary data, won the local elections: he ran again for mayor.
