Anti-corruption legislation will be restored, said the head of the Justice Ministry.

Ukraine’s Justice Minister Denis Malyuska commented on the Constitutional Court’s decision on anti-corruption legislation. According to the minister, he carefully studied the 22 pages of the decision and came to the conclusion that “the news is bad, but it could be worse.” On Wednesday October 28, the minister wrote about this on his Facebook page.

“Despite the decision to abolish criminal liability for inaccurate declarations, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine did not abolish the electronic declaration itself nor the criminal responsibility for illegal enrichment. The electronic register of declarations remained in force, although access to your data it will be limited, “he wrote.

According to him, the current government and the community of experts will quickly develop a bill that will limit (or even exclude) the influence of the NAPC on judges.

“Most likely, judges will receive their own separate wealth and expenditure control mechanism, which will not be inferior to the NAPK. That is, anti-corruption control over judges will be preserved. Well, the effect of the legislation will be restored. anti-corruption. Declare false information (or no declaration) will have to be punished more gently, through administrative responsibility. But even under the Penal Code, the sanctions were not too draconian, so there will be no striking changes, “wrote the Minister.

Let us remember that after the decision of the Constitutional Court to abolish criminal responsibility for inaccurate declaration of income, the criminal proceedings against said persons will be closed. This was stated by the director of the National Anti-Corruption Office of Ukraine, Artem Sytnik.
