The former prime minister of Ukraine, leader of the Popular Front party, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, called on national forces to “stop the pushback.”

The decision of the Constitutional Court to abolish part of the anti-corruption legislation is a daring revenge, which may result in the abolition of the electronic declaration. This was announced on October 28 by the former Prime Minister of Ukraine, leader of the Popular Front party Arseniy Yatsenyuk on Facebook.

“I am outraged by the announcement of the Constitutional Court decision, the consequence of which may be the cancellation of the electronic declaration. A complex set of solutions to ensure that the state anti-corruption policy is a 2014-2019 achievement,” Yatsenyuk said.

The former prime minister said that “a complex set of solutions” to guarantee the state’s anti-corruption policy is the work of the coalition and the two governments he led.

“I know the weight and complexity of these decisions. What we have done together opened a civilized perspective for Ukraine. What is happening now is revenge. Bold and unreasonable. All impunity has a beginning. In 2019, the political situation influenced the fact that the Constitutional Court blessed the dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada. Now the forces that want to push Ukraine back from the European path have raised their heads, “he said.

Yatsenyuk called on the representatives of all national political forces to “unite to stop the pushback.”

“The authorities must realize that their greatest enemy is revenge, both Russian and corrupt,” he added.

On October 27, the Ukrainian media, citing sources, said that the Constitutional Court of Ukraine recognized art. 366-1 of the Penal Code, which establishes a criminal penalty for declaring false information.

The representative of the Verkhovna Rada in the Constitutional Court Olga Sovgirya affirmed that the decision of the Constitutional Court, which it recognized as unconstitutional criminal responsibility for inaccurate declaration, was adopted with “flagrant procedural violations”.

The representative of the President of Ukraine in the KSU Fedor Venislavsky expressed the opinion that such a decision may have negative consequences for the European integration of Ukraine.

On October 28, a meeting of judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine addressed the President of Ukraine, the President of the Verkhovna Rada and the Prime Minister with a statement about the pressure on the court.

NAPK today at 6:00 p.m. closed the registry of electronic declarations, executing the decisions of the Constitutional Court.
