Average salary in Ukraine named
Throughout the year, the real average salary has grown by almost 10%. The lowest salary in September was in Volyn and the highest in Kiev.
In September 2020, in Ukraine, the average nominal salary of a full-time employee increased by 12.3% compared to September 2019, to 11,998 UAH, which is the highest value since the beginning of the year. This was announced on Wednesday, October 28, by the State Statistics Service.
It is observed that in September, wages increased by 4.8% (552 hryvnia) more than in August (11,446 hryvnia).
According to the statistics department, real wages (adjusted for inflation) in September 2020 increased by 9.7% compared to September last year, while nominal wages increased by 12.3%.
The State Statistics Service also notes that the average nominal wage of a full-time employee in Ukraine in September this year was 2.4 times higher than the minimum wage, which is set at 5000 UAH.
The highest earned wages in September were recorded in Kiev – 17,253 UAH, the lowest – in the Volyn region – 9,766 UAH. In most regions, the salary ranges from 9,000 to 11,000 hryvnia.
The highest salary is received in the field of information and telecommunications – 20,089 hryvnia, the lowest – temporary accommodation and catering – 6,557 hryvnia, where monthly salaries increased by 5.4%.
The salary is less than half of the income of Ukrainians.
Previously, the Ministry of Education announced teacher salaries after the increase in 2021.
