Most of the corruption offenses were disclosed to the authorities
Since the beginning of this year, some 150 officials have already lost their posts due to bribery, security officials reported.
A meeting with the leaders of the Security Service of Ukraine was held at the Attorney General’s Office, where the activities of the special services were discussed. So, since the beginning of the year, 679 officials were suspected of corruption crimes. This was reported by the press service of the UCP on Wednesday, October 28.
Attorney General Irina Venediktova noted that the SBU has achieved good results.
“From the point of view of exposing such crimes, the Ukrainian Security Service really has dynamics and results. We must block and destroy complete corruption schemes. Victory in this fight is only possible with an integrated approach. Furthermore, we must focus on compensation for losses in this category of cases, “she said.
In turn, the head of the SBU, Ivan Bakanov, said that since the beginning of the year 510 criminal proceedings have been opened for crimes of corruption, 679 people were suspected, 104 people were convicted and 143 officials were removed from their positions. He pointed out that it was in the authorities where most of the corruption crimes were revealed.
Earlier, the SBU laid out a scheme for customs clearance of imported cars with the participation of Polish customs officials. The monthly billing was 400 thousand dollars.
