The actor, former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, congratulated the current mayor of Kiev, Vitaly Klitschko, on his victory in the mayoral elections. The mayor of the capital wrote about this on his Facebook page.

“Friends! A few days ago my friend Arnie underwent heart surgery. He had a new aortic valve installed. But he is strong and a winner! He feels good. And he follows the events in Ukraine,” Klitschko said.

To the publication he attached a photo with the results of the exit poll, which was carried out by the City Development Institute at the request of the UDAR party, with the caption: “Vitaly, congratulations. I am proud of you. better. Your friend Arnold. “

According to this exit poll Klitschko wins the mayoral elections in the first round with 50.2% of the votes.



Data from the exit poll, conducted as part of a joint project by the Savik Shuster study and Ukraine 24 television channel, showed that Klitschko entered the second round of the Kiev mayoral elections with a 45.93 %, and the candidate of the Opposition Platform – For Life, Alexander Popov, with 9.62%.

The exit poll of the “Rating” of the Sociological Group showed that Klitschko got 47.8% and Popov 8.6%.

Sonia Koshkina, editor-in-chief of the LB.ua edition, referring to the data processing of 99.5% of the protocols, said that Klitschko won 50.6% and won in the first round.

On October 25, local elections were held throughout Ukraine, except for annexed Crimea and the occupied regions of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Citizens of Ukraine elected heads of cities, towns and municipalities, as well as deputies of regional, district, city, town and village councils. The elections were held for the first time in accordance with the new Electoral Code, according to the proportional system with open lists.

According to the Central Election Commission of Ukraine, the turnout was 36.88% (in Kiev – 34.42%).
