“If we don’t hit Lucescu, perhaps the problem is with the players”

Dinamo Kiev’s Uruguayan midfielder Carlos de Pena spoke about his work with coach Mircea Lucescu.

– Igor Surkis in the Lucescu presentation told the team that if it does not work with this coach, then all the players must be replaced. How did you react to these words?

– This is 100% true and a very accurate comment. Now one of the best coaches is working with the team. If we don’t succeed with him and we don’t learn from him, perhaps the problem is not with the coach, but with the players. I think we have everything to progress and become the best players.

– What kind of football does Lucescu want to play at the Dynamo?

– Has a clear idea of ​​how the team should play and how each player should act in their position. But the main thing is that Lucescu wants us to be the team that will control the game and not suffer on the field.

He wants us to do everything as a team, not as a group of individuals. In our games that we have already played we have shown that we fight for victory and for every goal. The match against Juventus is our first defeat in official matches with Lucescu.

Every time we try to take control of the game, move the ball from one flank to another, make the opponent suffer and run, look for spaces for attacks. We have many different options to play on offense and defense.
