Ukraine’s chief health doctor, Viktor Lyashko, said that in Ukraine five regions do not have time to check coronavirus tests every day. At the same time, 12 regions analyze all samples on the day of receipt.
Lyashko reported on this on the air of “Public Radio”.
According to him, the largest amount of test waste for COVID-19 remains after a working day in Kharkov, Kiev, Sumy, in the Donetsk and Odessa regions.
“These five regions make up the amount of waste, and these are the areas where our prioritization of improving the laboratory network to reduce testing waste is directed,” added Lyashko.
He noted that the government has allocated 100 million hryvnia to sign contracts with private laboratories. At the same time, Lyashko added that they plan to move the remains of coronavirus tests that remain in state laboratories to private clinics.
We will recall, previously, that the Ministry of Health presented a cooperation mechanism between public and private laboratories when carrying out coronavirus tests.
In addition, the Ministry of Health plans to reduce the duration of COVID-19 tests at the expense of private laboratories.
