Lyashko leads the Rada by-elections in the Chernihiv region, his rival Gunko announced his victory

The People’s Servant candidate in the 208 district in the Chernihiv region, Anatoly Gunko, said that a parallel recount showed his advantage over Radical Party leader Oleg Lyashko. Lyashko announced a large-scale bribery of voters.

In the by-elections to the Verkhovna Rada in the 208th district of the Chernihiv region, after counting 24.62% of the votes, the head of the Radical Party, Oleg Lyashko, is in the lead. This is demonstrated by the data on the website of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).

According to these data, 33.03% of voters voted for Lyashko. For his main competitor, Anatoly Gunko from “Servant of the People” – 32.38%.

The self-proclaimed Lyudmila Davidenko ranks third with 26.96%.

On October 26, Anatoly Gunko announced on Facebook that he won the election.

According to a parallel vote count carried out by my headquarters, I won a landslide victory in the electoral contest in the 208 district, with a difference of 1,442 votes, ”he wrote.

The candidate Servant of the People believes that his rival Lyashko is showing “hysteria” in front of the cameras of the central television channels.



Lyashko said on Facebook on October 26 that he does not acknowledge Gunko’s victory.

“We won the elections in district 208, but we lost because of bribery and corruption by the authorities. According to the CCA, an abnormally high turnout of 50% in this district was one and a half times higher than the average turnout in the country. This is evidence that a large-scale voter bribery network has worked in the district. … Government candidate Gunko bought 50% of the constituency’s voters and, with the help of corruption, bought the mandate of the people’s deputy. Therefore, we do not recognize the results of these bought elections, we demand a fair investigation and the punishment of all those involved in the large-scale bribery of voters in constituency 208, “the leader wrote.
