In the midterm elections to the Verkhovna Rada in 208 single-mandate constituencies, the leader of the candidate Servant of the People, Anatoly Gunko. He received more than 35% of the vote and surpasses his opponent Oleg Lyashko, leader of the Radical Party, by a narrow margin.
This is evidenced by the data of the Central Electoral Commission, at 6:45 am on October 26.
The CEC processed 10.05% of the district protocols. The voting results have already been reported by 20 out of 199 polling stations:
- Anatoly Gunko from “Servant of the People” – 35.8% of the vote;
- Oleg Lyashko from the “Radical Party” – 34.04% of the vote;
- Lyudmila Davidenko, self nomination – 20.84% of the votes.
The rest of the candidates received a small number of votes.
Furthermore, Gunko himself announced a victory in the district on his Facebook.
“According to the parallel vote counts made by my headquarters, I obtained a landslide victory in the electoral contest in constituency 208, with a difference of 1,442 votes,” the CH candidate wrote.
At the same time, Lyashko himself, immediately after the closing of the polling stations at 8:00 p.m. on October 25, announced his victory.
“Thank you all for winning the 208th constituency. This is our common victory! I’m back,” he wrote on Facebook.
Previously it was reported that 50.03% of voters participated in the by-elections to the Verkhovna Rada in district 208 in the Chernihiv region.
Recall that the CEC registered 17 candidates in District 208, who fought for a seat in parliament after the death of MP Valery Davydenko in May this year.
Subsequently, the wife of the deceased people’s deputy, Lyudmila Davidenko, joined the electoral race. She was forced to register the court, as the CEC announced problems with the candidate’s documents.
