Daylight Saving Time in Ukraine was canceled on October 25, 2020 at 4 (four) hours Kiev time. On the last Sunday in October, Ukraine switched to winter time, the hour hand moved 1 (one) hour back.

This is provided for by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of May 13, 1996 No. 509 “On the procedure for calculating time on the territory of Ukraine.”

Taking into account the order of calculation of the time in force in European countries since 1996, the government of Ukraine decided to introduce the following order of calculation of the time on the territory of Ukraine: the time of the second time zone (Kiev time) with the translation of the hour hand annually on the last Sunday in March at 3 o’clock 1 hour in advance. and the last Sunday in October at 4 o’clock 1 hour ago.

Please note that by law local elections in Ukraine are held on the last Sunday of October. In 2020, it is October 25. According to a poll by the Sociological Group “Rating”, 58% of Ukrainians definitely plan to participate in the elections, another 18% are inclined to do so, 6% would prefer not to vote, and 16% would definitely not vote.

In addition, by decision of President Volodymyr Zelensky, during the local elections, a poll will also be carried out in which Ukrainians will be asked to answer five questions. According to a Sociological Group Rating poll, if contacted after the vote, 58% will agree or rather agree to answer Zelensky’s questions, and 36% will decline.

As RBC-Ukraine reported, a bill was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada, which provides for the consolidation of a single hour of Kiev on the territory of Ukraine and the rejection of the seasonal translation of the clock hands.
