The Ministry of Health named the number of victims of coronavirus among doctors

Following the death of a medical worker from COVID-19, an investigation is underway, after which a decision is made to pay compensation to his relatives, Lyashko said.

Since the beginning of a pandemic of a new type of coronavirus infection, 140 medical workers have died in Ukraine, said Ukraine’s chief health physician, Deputy Health Minister Viktor Lyashko. On Saturday, October 24, he announced it in an interview with UA: Suspilne.

He stressed that the Ukrainian health system can withstand the increase in the incidence of COVID-19, in which 15 to 17 thousand new cases will be registered every day.

“But we don’t want this to happen, because this is a major burden for doctors. Doctors are emotionally exhausted, physically exhausted. They work day and night in a difficult way, they go out and constantly see violations of anti-epidemiological norms: people He doesn’t wear masks, he doesn’t keep at a distance, I’m not talking about washing hands anymore. And it affects emotionally. Here they save lives, but here someone doesn’t listen, “added Lyashko.

The deputy minister said that now, after the death of a health worker who has confirmed COVID-19, an investigation is underway, after which a decision is made to pay compensation to his relatives.

“We discussed with the Ministry of Social Policy how to simplify the procedure for conducting such investigations for workers who provide assistance to patients with COVID-19 in hospitals. If a person works in a hospital, they receive a 300% bonus, they become infected or have a fatal case, then no additional investigations are needed, since everything is already registered that works with coronavirus patients, “he added.

We will remember, in Ukraine for three days in a row there are more than 7 thousand new cases of coronavirus. Most of the cases were detected in the Kiev, Kharkov, Zhytomyr and Lviv regions.

It was previously reported that the Ministry of Health plans to reach 75 thousand PCR tests per day by the end of the year.
