In Rivne, police denounced 56 Kyiv residents for distributing smear leaflets against one of the city’s mayoral candidates. Among them were minors.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of the Interior.

Police on patrol found the violators around 3 a.m. on October 24.

“The 56 people arrived from the capital in five minibuses. Among them were ten minors. The police officers wrote administrative reports for 42 people. The police confiscated about 10 thousand copies of newspapers from the criminals,” the statement said.

Law enforcement officers drew up administrative protocols for 42 people under part 2 of article 212-13 (production or distribution of printed materials for electoral campaigns that do not contain information on the institution that produced the press, its circulation, information on those responsible for the emission) KUoAP. All materials were sent to the court for a decision.

Recall that the local elections in Ukraine will take place on Sunday, October 25. Today is a “day of silence” in Ukraine before the local elections.

RBC-Ukraine also wrote that the police opened 622 criminal cases due to violations related to the electoral process, which began on September 5.
