President Volodymyr Zelenskyy ordered the government to strengthen support for people with disabilities in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. The head of state sent a corresponding letter to Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.

This was reported by the press service of the Presidency.

As noted in the president’s letter, people with disabilities, including children, are most affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Today, according to the head of state, these people have problems accessing medical care.

“I ask you, dear Denis Anatolyevich, to take measures to strengthen support for people with disabilities during the pandemic and to minimize its consequences for them,” Zelensky’s press service quotes the content of the letter.

Recall that in September, Zelensky signed a law to increase the allowance for the care of people with disabilities from childhood.

Furthermore, in April, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed a defender of the rights of persons with disabilities.

We add that 60% of polling stations are already available for people with disabilities.
