The Cabinet of Ministers asked for the condition for holding local elections in Donbass

Local elections in the temporarily uncontrolled territories of Donbass are possible only after guaranteeing security conditions. This was stated by the Minister for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, Alexei Reznikov, in Savik Shuster’s Freedom of Expression broadcast on Friday 23 October.
“As soon as it becomes clear on security issues that elections can be held there (in Donbass – ed.), They will be held there and mayors will be elected,” Reznikov said.
Earlier, Reznikov said that new alliances are needed in Donbas. Ukraine needs to seek new alliances, as well as lower expectations about the talks in Minsk, the minister said.
