A resident of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, who wanted the poll launched by Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky to be declared illegal, was denied the claim.
The poll launched by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is not illegal. This decision was made by the Kiev District Administrative Court, the court’s press service reported on 23 October.
A resident of the Ivano-Frankivsk region filed a lawsuit to declare the holding of the presidential elections illegal.
At the same time, the parties that were notified of the consideration of the case did not arrive at the hearing.
The court’s decision states that a prerequisite for the provision of legal protection by the court is the presence of an actual violation of human rights at the time of going to court.
“The announcement of any subject of the power of authority about his intentions to commit actions in the future cannot be considered by the court as an action that violates the plaintiff’s right. Based on the limits of the established requirements and the analysis of the provisions of current legislation, the court concluded that the claim is unfounded and not proven Sufficient evidence, and denied the plaintiff to his satisfaction “, – said in the message.
On October 13, Zelenskiy said that on local election day on October 25, Ukrainians will be asked to answer “five important questions”:
- Is it necessary to introduce life imprisonment for corruption on an especially large scale?
- Do you support the creation of a free economic zone in Donbas?
- Should the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine be reduced to 300 people’s deputies?
- Do you support the legalization of medical cannabis to relieve pain in critically ill patients?
- Should Ukraine raise the question of the application of the security guarantees defined by the Budapest Memorandum at the international level?
The Central Electoral Commission reported that they are not preparing the survey. The president’s office stressed that the results of the survey will have no legal consequences.
On October 21 it was known that the vote will be financed by the Servant of the People party. The political force said that this is legal, since the party will not carry out investigations by itself, but will close an agreement with a company that conducts sociological surveys.
“The citizens who carry out the investigation will be outside the polling stations. In fact, this is an exit voting format generally accepted in the world. On October 25 a poll will be conducted in this format also by order of other forces policies, “the party said.
According to a survey by the Sociological Group “Rating” conducted from October 20 to 21, 43% of Ukrainians are positive about Zelensky’s initiative to conduct a survey, 25% are negative and 30% are neutral.
