“On Tuesday, together with the scientists, we presented to the President the work, which lasted six months, to develop, pass the preclinical phase of the vaccine against COVID-19, a phase that consists of several great moments. This candidate vaccine was found to have pretty good prospects, “Stepanov said.
According to him, the development of this candidate was carried out by a consortium of American companies together with Ukrainian scientists.
In the near future, scientists will begin the clinical phase. According to Stepanov, it will be launched with the full support of the state, including in the financing of all processes.
It should be noted that the production of the vaccine will require about 100-150 million hryvnia.
“Calculations will be made. And I think we will fully fund this with the state. The very manufacture of this vaccine,” Stepanov said.
He stressed that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy insists on the full financing of the production of the Ukrainian vaccine against COVID-19.
