Ukraine can receive a vaccine from AstraZeneca

There is no confirmed information yet on whether the deceased received a dose of the coronavirus vaccine or a placebo.

In Brazil, a participant in a trial of the COVID-19 coronavirus vaccine, developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford, died of complications from the infection. This was reported by the newspaper Globo with reference to the National Health Surveillance Agency of Brazil (Anvisa).

It is indicated that the vaccine developers have sent the results of the investigation carried out by the International Safety Evaluation Committee to the National Agency. At the same time, there is no confirmed information on whether the deceased received a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine or a placebo.

In turn, sources close to the developers of the vaccine report that the man received a placebo, which is why trials of the vaccine will continue in Brazil.

The deceased volunteer is known to be a 28-year-old doctor who worked in a private clinic in Rio de Janeiro in the intensive care unit with coronavirus patients.

He took part in a vaccine study in July and contracted the coronavirus in September and got worse in October. Family members indicated that he had no comorbidities.

Recall that the vaccine company AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford is considered one of the world’s favorites, but their trials have already been suspended twice. The side effects of this vaccine are cause for concern.

It was also reported that Ukraine could receive vaccines against the coronavirus AstraZeneca and the American Novavax.
