In the Georgian town of Zugdidi, a gunman took Bank of Georgia employees and visitors hostage. The criminal has a machine gun and a grenade with him.
This was reported by the First Channel of Georgia Public Television.
The man has not yet filed his claims.
As reported by “Georgia Online”, there may be two criminals, and one of the bank employees managed to press the alarm button. There are police officers and special forces on site.
According to a bank employee, the gunman fired several shots when entering the bank building.
According to preliminary data, up to 40 people may be hostages.
Recall that in early August in the French city of Le Havre, a man took hostages in one of the bank branches. The man held hostages for about six hours, after which he was arrested.
Furthermore, on July 3 in Kiev, a man seized a bank branch and took one of the employees hostage; the attacker was detained by the special forces of the Ukrainian Security Service and is now in custody.
