At the end of the year, the US Congress will adopt additional sanctions against companies that contribute to the construction of the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. This is stated in the statement of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine.
According to her, additional sanctions will be adopted as part of the bill on the annual defense budget of the United States.
These penalties should cover the provision of insurance services to Russian pipe-laying vessels, the Nord Stream 2 operational certification, and various forms of assistance for pipe-laying operations.
Naftogaz also announced its support for the US administration’s decision to extend sanctions against Nord Stream 2.
The restrictions now apply to companies that assist and finance pipe laying vessels to upgrade or install equipment.
