According to sociology, five political forces are elected to the Dnipro City Council following the election results: “Proposition”, OLE, “Servant of the People”, “Hromadska Sila” and “Vilkul Bloc” Ukrainian Perspective “. At the same time, the mono-majority in the City Council will hardly be negotiating coalitions.
This is stated in the RBK-Ukraine material “Battle for the Dnieper: who is fighting with Filatov for the mayor’s chair and the city council.”
Representatives of almost all major parties point out that the coalition in the local councils is not as politicized as in the Verkhovna Rada. Therefore, cooperation is possible between MPs from parties that are strongly opposed to each other at the national level.
“If we are talking about the city council, I would not use the word ‘coalition’ at all. Unlike Verkhovna Rada, this is a story where people must come together to solve comprehensible applied problems. And with all those who came to solve these problems, our faction will cooperate, either in general or on specific issues. There will definitely be no monobolism, “Gennady Gufman, a representative of HLE, told the publication.
At the same time, he hopes that after the strengthening of the imperative mandate in the municipalities, there will be fewer transitions between factions.
In turn, Alexander Vilkul hopes his party will receive enough mandates to form a faction.
“In the Dnipro City Council, we will cooperate with all parties that support the implementation of our program. The Ukrainian Perspective is ready for a constructive dialogue,” said the politician.
Representatives of other parties also announced their readiness for constructive cooperation. However, for example, the current mayor Boris Filatov would not want to depend on future deputies of the “Servant of the People” in the City Hall.
“Legally there are no coalitions in the municipalities. Members of the Vilkula Block, OLE, will vote for the city’s budget, for sewerage, for pipes, for the purchase of trolleybuses, etc., and we will not need the services of “public servants.” I don’t want to deal with the proteges of the bandits or oligarchs, ”said the mayor of Dnipro.
But “Hromadska Sila” does not plan to negotiate with “Proposition”.
“We are the only party that was in virtually hostile relations with the mayor during his entire cadence,” Krasnov told the newspaper.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine wrote that Boris Filatov has a chance to win the mayoral election in the first round.
