“The number of new COVID-19 cases continues to accelerate, while the number of new deaths remains relatively stable … As of October 18, more than 40 million cases and 1.1 million deaths were reported. Including more than 2 , 4 million new cases and 36 thousand new deaths ”, said the organization in its bulletin.

Furthermore, the most serious epidemic situation is observed in North and South America. In total, more than 798 thousand people were infected in this region from October 12 to 18, and the total number of infected exceeded 18.8 million. More than 16 thousand deaths were registered in seven days, and as of October 18 the total number of deaths was more than 608 thousand.

At the same time, Europe saw a 25 percent increase in incidence from the previous week. The number of infected people has increased from more than 927 thousand to more than 8 million people. More than 8 thousand died in a week and the total number of deaths exceeded 256 thousand people.

Recall that previously the Ministry of Health mentioned the reasons for the worsening of the COVID-19 epidemic in Ukraine. The Ministry claims that the situation in Ukraine is similar to what is happening in the rest of Europe.

It was also reported that the Ministry of Health explained how to care for a COVID patient at home. Patients with a mild form of coronavirus can be treated at home, when there is a runny nose and cough, but breathing is not difficult and the temperature does not exceed 38.
