Housing prices in Ukraine have risen significantly
In the primary market, prices rose by almost 8% and in the secondary market by more than 10% compared to last year.
In July-September 2020, prices in the primary housing market in Ukraine increased by 7.7%, and in the secondary market, by 10.6% compared to the same period in 2019. This is evidenced by the data from the State Statistics Service on Tuesday, October 20.
The highest price increase in the primary housing market in the third quarter is observed for one-bedroom apartments (at 9.3%) and three-bedroom apartments (8.1%), while two-bedroom apartments have risen in price by 5.9%.
At the same time, prices for one-bedroom apartments (11.9%) and two-bedroom apartments (11.2%) rose the most in the secondary market, while prices for three-bedroom apartments increased 8.5%.
The State Statistical Service adds that in the reporting period, house price growth slowed in the primary market and accelerated in the secondary market. In particular, in the primary market, housing prices increased by 1.2% compared to the second quarter of 2020: (2% for three-bedroom apartments, 1.6 for one-bedroom apartments and 0.5% for two-bedroom apartments). At the same time, in the second quarter compared to the first, growth accelerated by 1.8%. In secondary housing in the third quarter of 2020, compared to the second, house prices increased by 2.4% (by 3.1% for two-room apartments, by 2.6% – for three-room apartments, by 1.1% – for one-room apartments), then from the first quarter, they grew by 1.5%.
It is noted that the indicators are given without taking into account the temporarily uncontrolled territories of Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
Recall that earlier Kiev was included in the list of the world’s major cities, with a rapid rise in house prices. Over the past year, the price of real estate in Kiev rose by more than 11%, making the city 11th out of 150 cities in the world.
It was also reported that the Cabinet is preparing a new mortgage loan program. A new structure will provide mortgage loans and also provide financial leasing, said the head of the finance ministry.
