Experts seek an opportunity to seal the rift that has arisen on the ISS

The crack in the Russian Zvezda module does not threaten the safety of the station and crew, according to Roscosmos.

The International Space Station (ISS) has a crack no more than 4 centimeters in size. This was announced on Tuesday, October 20 by Interfax with reference to the press service of the state corporation Roscosmos.

“The crack through which the atmosphere of the ISS leaks does not exceed four centimeters,” said a spokesman, noting that nothing threatens the safety of the station and the crew.

He also confirmed that the crack is in the Russian Zvezda module.

On the eve it was reported that the air leak to the ISS was stopped with the help of temporary means. Now experts are looking for an opportunity to close the “gap” that has emerged permanently.

It was also learned that ISS crew members fixed faults in the toilet, food heater and oxygen production system that emerged tonight.
