In the last two weeks, the number of Ukrainians willing to participate in local elections, even if the situation with the coronavirus escalates, has risen to 51%. This is evidenced by the results of a survey by the sociological group Rating, published on Tuesday, October 20.

In case of worsening of the situation with the coronavirus, 51% confirmed their willingness to participate in the elections, 21% find it difficult (50/50), 9% can go to the polling stations, 17% is unlikely . In the last two weeks, the number of those who are willing to attend areas even in the event of an exacerbation of the epidemic “, – says the study.

Overall, 61% of respondents announced their participation in local elections. 18% find it difficult (50/50), another 7% can participate, 13% unlikely.

Sociologists also note that electoral mobilization in the youngest and middle age categories is growing gradually.

Furthermore, 58% of those surveyed indicated that they have already decided who to vote for, 40% have not.

At the same time, over the past month, the number of those expecting major fakes has increased. Thus, 48% of Ukrainians believe that there will be minor forgeries in local elections, and 28% are convinced that they will be significant, and only 16% of respondents believe that there will be no forgeries in local elections.

62% of those surveyed said they had a negative attitude towards the situation when during the elections some politicians and parties help voters financially (they distribute rations, money, funds for repairs and treatments). 19% of respondents are neutral about it, 15% are positive. Despite this, only 6% have personally faced bribery attempts, 11% know about it from their family and friends, and 81% had no such experience during this election campaign.

Previously, the CEC approved the procedure for voting in local elections for people sick with COVID-19.
