For a long time, the European Solidarity party tried to convince the mayor of Kiev, Vitaly Klitschko, and his UDAR party to go to the local elections together. However, he refused.
This is stated in the RBK-Ukraine material “Battle for Kiev: who will fight with Klitschko for power in the capital”.
An RBC-Ukraine source, surrounded by the mayor, said that after Klitschko’s refusal, “this resulted in his public hysteria.”
First, the “EU” published a video in which Klitschko was already openly offered to go to the polls together. Then they hung propaganda posters around the city with the image of Petro Poroshenko, who could be a real competitor of Klitschko. However, he never got used to it.
“Many of our voters have a positive attitude towards Klitschko as mayor. If we attack him now, it could be a disadvantage for us,” explained one of the interlocutors at the “EU” headquarters.
We will remember, the party “European Solidarity” in the elections of the mayor of Kiev will support the current mayor Vitali Klitschko.
The list of “European Solidarity” in the elections to the Kiev City Council will be headed by Marina Poroshenko.
