Iran took full responsibility for the Ukrainian plane crash of Ukraine International Airlines near Tehran. At the same time, the Iranian side is willing to provide the same amount of compensation to the families of all the victims, regardless of their citizenship.

This was stated by Vice Chancellor Yevgeny Yenin, reports the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the same time, during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarifi, Yenin declared the need for an impartial and objective investigation into the circumstances of the plane crash and asked the Iranian side to provide access to all relevant materials.

“Progress in the negotiation process on the Ukrainian aircraft will contribute to the normalization of cooperation with Iran in all areas,” he stressed.

The Iranian diplomat assured that no third country will influence Iran’s policy towards Ukraine.

Recall that on January 8 of this year, a UIA Boeing 737 was shot down by two Iranian missiles while flying from Tehran airport. There were 167 passengers and 9 crew members on board, none of them survived. Iran claims the plane was hit by missiles due to human error.

It was previously reported that today in Tehran began the second stage of negotiations between Ukraine and Iran on the case of the UIA plane crash.
