Action in support of the teacher murdered in Paris
This decision was made after the brutal murder of a school teacher who showed children a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad. A selection of cartoons will be distributed in schools.
In France, in protest of the murder of a school teacher who showed children cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad in class, a selection of cartoons on religious and political themes will be published. This was announced on Monday, October 19, by the president of the Association of French Heads of Regions Renault Muselier, reports TASS.
“We, the heads of the regions of France, today take the initiative to prepare the publication of a selection of the most striking cartoons on religious and political subjects that have appeared in the regional and national media. , – said Muselier, speaking at the Congress of Heads of Regions.
The French Ministry of Public Education will participate in the project, he said. Your task will be to ensure that this brochure is distributed to all schools in France.
“With this gesture, in accordance with our competence, we want to show commitment to the values of the Republic and the fundamental rights of each of our citizens to live in peace and freedom,” he explained.
Muselier stressed that “blasphemy is not a crime” in France and “obscurantism” is not a place on its territory.
“When it comes to humor, our right to defend hype and parody,” he said.
The official pointed out that the teacher’s killer was only 18 years old, and this, he said, shows once again the importance of the role the school plays.
We will remember, on October 16, a beheaded Islamic radical 47-year-old history teacher Samuel Pati, who showed students cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad. A few minutes later, the police shot and killed the attacker.
It was previously reported that law enforcement officers in France are ready to expel from the country more than 230 radicals with foreign citizenship, who are suspected of extremist activities.
