Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini answered questions from the media at a press conference before the game against Dynamo in
– Now the team plays with three defenders again, while under Sarri’s leadership they played four. If you and Bonucci are already used to this tactical formation Conte and Allegri used, then Danilo might drop a bit. Can you feel it?
– Actually, nothing special is happening. The team changes and the players too. But I cannot say that these changes are radical. We, as always, try to follow the recommendations and guidelines of the coaching staff to show everything we can, adhering to a certain system.
– How long can it take for the new tactical model of the game to fully work?
– I can’t say exactly how long it takes. We haven’t worked much together in the last few weeks. I mean, first of all, new players. Certainly, there is a lot of work ahead. The main task at the moment is to prepare as well as possible for tomorrow’s match. Of course, we still have to adapt, get used to and the new game model to be able to demonstrate everything we are capable of on the field.
– Now Juventus is not one of the main favorites of the Champions League, as it was before. How do you get used to this state and how much does it affect your mood?
– Under any conditions, we must work hard to perform our best. And the place that the experts and the media give us is not that important. This is not worth paying attention to. There are specific tasks. The main task remains the same: to show the best possible game and the best result.
– What are your associations with Ukrainian football? Shevchenko, Lucescu, Shakhtar, Dynamo? You probably don’t have the best memories of this stadium, because you lost here with a score of 0: 4 in the final of Euro 2012.
– I have repeatedly answered questions about what connects me with Ukraine. Several years ago we met with Shakhtar, they are a really strong team. Of course, Shevchenko also immediately comes to mind. He scored a lot for us when he was still playing for Milan. Fortunately for us, now he no longer plays, but works as a coach.
As for the final of Euro 2012, yes, we lost, so the memories are not very pleasant. Then during the tournament, we played well, we reached the final, but then it didn’t happen the way we wanted. However, this is football. In general, the impressions on the stadium and the country are good.
