Rada to prepare the de-Sovietization of legislation
Parliament must draw up a list of outdated laws and put an end to them.
The vice president of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk announced the need to carry out procedures for the de-Sovietization of legislation in 2021. With such an initiative, he spoke at the seeding of the conciliation council on Monday, October 19.
“I would definitely like to draw your attention to the fact that a year of big events is approaching: this is the 25th anniversary of the Constitution of Ukraine and the 30th anniversary of the act of independence of Ukraine. I think it is for this period that we should plan a process called de-Sovietization of Ukrainian legislation, that is, we must, in the end, draw up a list of legislative acts that we must say goodbye to for a long time, so that the legislation of Ukraine does not have, for example, the Housing Code of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic on the issue, that in 2021 we will profess the idea of Leninist communism, etc. and so on, “he said.
The vice president called on the committees, people’s deputies, as well as other subjects of legislative initiative to join the work of de-Sovietizing the legislation.
In addition, Stefanchuk said that the Rada should celebrate the European Union Days for the adoption of bills that are important for the European integration of Ukraine.
“We have a lot of obligations, which are not only obligations, but also measures to improve our state of the economy and other areas, so we still have votes on these necessary bills, directives that need to be implemented in one way or another. , or those agreements, whose consent must be given by the Verkhovna Rada, “said Stefanchuk.
Note that in the conciliation council, the Speaker of Parliament, Dmitry Razumkov, said that the Rada will consider the draft state budget for 2021 at the first reading on November 3, and not on October 20, as expected.
