Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke by phone about the joint agenda items and interaction on urgent projects.

On October 16, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy participated in a telephone conversation between Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during a working visit to Turkey. This was reported by the press service of the Presidency.

The Canadian prime minister had a telephone conversation with the Turkish president, during which Erdogan noted that he had a surprise for Trudeau and handed the phone over to Zelenskiy, the statement said.

The leaders of Ukraine and Canada exchanged friendly greetings and briefly discussed issues on the joint agenda and interaction on urgent projects.

“Zelensky and Trudeau were pleasantly surprised by the possibility of a friendly conversation in this format,” the press service said.

On October 16, Zelensky flew to Turkey on a working visit. Following the meeting with President Erdogan, the parties made a joint statement, signed a military framework agreement and several other bilateral documents. Zelensky presented Erdogan with the Order of Yaroslav the Wise.

During today’s visit to Turkey, Zelensky also met with the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
