Belgium has decided to tighten the quarantine to stop the increase in coronavirus cases. The corresponding statement was made today by the country’s Prime Minister, Alexander De Croo.

It is reported in the Belgian edition of The Brussels Times.

According to De Croo, Belgium is currently in a highly prepared phase.

“The number of infected people is growing day by day and very rapidly. Our doctors and hospitals are under intense pressure. We are waging an uneven fight against this virus,” he stressed.

As of Monday, October 19, nationals will only be allowed one contact outside their own home. The government has recommended working remotely if possible.

In addition, a curfew will be introduced in the country. People will not be allowed to leave from 00:00 to 5 in the morning.

Bars and restaurants will be closed for four weeks in Belgium and after 20:00 it will be forbidden to sell alcohol.

We recall that on October 8, cafes and bars were closed in the capital of Belgium. The quarantine in Brussels has been tightened after a two-week increase in incidence.
