In Odessa, law enforcement officers arrested a militant from the international terrorist organization “Islamic State”. The terrorist was on the international wanted list.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
The attacker planned to organize a transit transfer of militants from different countries to the ranks of the “Islamic State” on the territory of Ukraine.
The militant arrived illegally in Ukraine from one of the Central Asian countries. It is known that he received training in terrorist camps in the Middle East.
The foreigner will be extradited from Ukraine. The militant has already been handed over to the competent authorities of his country of origin.
Let us remind you that one of the leaders of the Islamic State was arrested in Kiev in early September. The detainee is associated with a suspect in the organization of a terrorist attack at Ataturk airport in 2016.
Another member of the Islamic State was arrested in Zhitomir. In Ukraine, the militant tried to legalize himself by obtaining a residence permit.
As RBC-Ukraine wrote, the SBU is investigating 11 criminal proceedings against 9 Islamic State militants.
