Sumy is approaching the record for coronavirus incidence. There are about 1,000 patients for every 100,000 of the city’s population.

This statement was made by the state’s chief sanitary physician, Viktor Lyashko, at a briefing on the results of a meeting of the State Commission for Safety and Technogenic and Environmental Emergencies.

According to Lyashko, as of today, the incidence rate of COVID-19 in Sumy is 954 patients per 100,000 inhabitants.

At the same time, the incidence rate in Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil is approaching orange. Lyashko hopes that compliance with anti-epidemic measures will help these regional centers return to the “orange zone” of quarantine.

We remind you that at the beginning of the week Sumy was in the “red zone” of quarantine. Then, together with Sumy, the city of Kanev entered the “red zone”.

Also, at today’s meeting, the State BTE and Emergencies Commission decided to leave Sumy in the “red zone” of quarantine for another 2 weeks.

Kharkiv also entered the “red zone” today.
