Khomchak was born in 1967 in Lvov. Graduated from the Moscow Higher School of Military Command and the National Defense Academy of Ukraine. Kovalenko was born in 1991 in Bucha, Kiev region. A graduate of the Ivan Karpenko-Kary Kyiv National University of Theater, Film and Television (Master of Theater Studies), he is a graduate student at the National Academy of Public Administration under the presidency of Ukraine. During his studies at the university he worked as a journalist. In 2014, she actively participated in the Dignity Revolution, was a member of the Hundred Maidan Women’s Self-Defense Forces. After the revolution, she was an advisor to several defense ministers. In 2019, she was elected deputy of the people of the Servant of the People, but almost immediately she left her mandate as deputy: in September 2019 President Vladimir Zelenskiy appointed her deputy director of the Office of the President. In April 2020, Kovalenko was removed from this position, in May she became Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development and, in October, Head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration. Kovalenko is the first woman appointed by the head of the region during the Zelensky cadence.
