The State Commission for Safety and Technogenic and Environmental Emergencies has decided to send Kharkiv to the “red zone” of quarantine. In addition, a part of the Kharkov region entered the “red zone”.

This was stated by the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Aleksey Kucher, on the Telegram channel.

Together with Kharkov, Lyubotin, as well as the Bogodukhovsky, Lozovskoy and Pervomaisky districts, entered the “red zone” of quarantine.

In these cities and regions the work of cafes, restaurants, shopping centers and entertainment establishments, as well as visits to educational institutions, will be prohibited. Also, public transport should stop working.

The restrictions go into effect on Monday, October 19.

Updated: Kharkiv City Council has not yet decided whether to tighten the quarantine in the city following the decision of the State Commission. The quarantine decision is scheduled to be made tomorrow.

“It’s too early for comment. We found out we were in the ‘red zone’ 5 minutes ago. After that, at least a fuel and energy balance needs to be done, draft decisions should be made on this fuel and energy balance . This is not done in 5 minutes. I think tomorrow we will find out everything “, – said the press secretary of the City Council, Yuri Sidorenko.

We will recall, today the deputy head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Taras Pastukh, announced the lack of beds for coronavirus patients in hospitals in the region. He noted that the situation in the region no longer even corresponds to the “red” level.

Furthermore, despite the unfavorable epidemic situation in the city, the Kharkiv City Council did not plan to send schools on the first holiday.

We add that Sumy and Kanev were in the “red zone” of quarantine earlier this week.
