At the end of last week, the British media reported interesting news. Two Premier League clubs, Liverpool and Manchester United, have proposed cutting the league to 18 teams. The project was called “Overview”.
The main goal is to reduce the difference in television contract revenue between the Premier League and the EFL. Today a meeting of the Premier League clubs took place on this subject.
The project was rejected by all the other clubs, “Liverpool” and “Manchester United”, without receiving support from abroad, they left their company. Also at today’s event, a new proposal for financial aid to the Championship teams was agreed.
