Jeenbekov to resign after parliamentary elections
Sooronbai Jeenbekov will leave office after the parliamentary elections, so as not to leave the country in an unstable political situation.
Kyrgyz President Sooronbai Jeenbekov will resign after parliamentary elections. This was stated by his press secretary Tolgonai Stamalieva, reports kaktus.media on Wednesday, October 14.
Jeenbekov met with Prime Minister Sadyr Zhaparov. At the meeting, the prime minister demanded that the president resign tonight.
“Jeenbekov emphasized once again that now he has no right to leave the presidency, as this will lead to an unpredictable scenario for the development of events to the detriment of the state,” explained Stamalieva.
The spokesperson added that the president continues to adhere to the position expressed on October 9, 2020: he will resign after returning the country to the legal field, that is, after the parliamentary elections and the announcement of the election of a new president.
Let us remember that previously in Kyrgyzstan a new composition of the government was approved. Sadyr Japarov has been appointed the new prime minister. The deputies unanimously approved the program and the composition of the government.
A fragile situation. How is the revolution in Kyrgyzstan going?
