In a comment to the Ukraine 24 television channel, the head of state denied that the meeting discussed leaks of information through his entourage.
“There are no secrets. Unfortunately, now I cannot express all the information. These are matters of state … Many publications that were once serious in Ukraine have become tabloids. I read what they write about the content of this meeting; its content is incorrectly named. These issues were not considered ”, Zelensky emphasized.
According to him, the meeting focused primarily on protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. At the same time, MI6 is reportedly concerned that in Ukraine «The media are financed not only by Ukrainians ”.
«There was an important question that, I can tell, is related to all the fake news. They said that we have a big problem with the fact that the media is financed not only by Ukrainians. Many of the television channels that we know are financed by various groups, and that is why one of what we are talking about is that there must be independent media that today, when we have a war, protect our sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Zelensky also said that MI6 called destabilization one of the main threats in Ukraine.
Recall, the publication ZN.ua, citing sources, reported that Vladimir Zelensky, during his visit to the United Kingdom, held an unannounced meeting with the head of the Mi-6, Richard Moore. At this meeting, three main topics were allegedly discussed:
- attacks by the Ukrainian authorities against anti-corruption agencies in Ukraine and the desire of the Office of the President to take control of SAP, NABU, the Office of the Attorney General and the courts;
- the situation in the east and the actions of Russia;
- Zelensky’s entourage, not only official, but also informal, which has a significant impact on the Ukrainian president.
According to the newspaper, the British allegedly warned Zelensky about information leaks through his entourage.
Zelensky paid an official visit to the UK on October 7-8. On the first day of the visit, he and his wife Elena Zelenskaya met with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also met with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. They signed an agreement on political cooperation, free trade and strategic association.
In the presence of Zelensky, the heads of the defense departments signed a memorandum on strengthening cooperation in the military and technical spheres, which provides for the allocation of a loan of 1.6 billion dollars to Ukraine and the re-equipment of the Ukrainian Navy. .
