Ukraine’s Health Minister Maxim Stepanov did not rule out the possibility of buying a Russian vaccine against the coronavirus. At the same time, he noted that the vaccine can be purchased only if it is approved by the World Health Organization.
Stepanov said this on the air of the NewsOne channel.
“We have a corresponding statement from the Russians that they manufactured the vaccine, but there is no confirmation from international organizations regarding the effectiveness of this vaccine, which has passed all stages and is safe, the Ministry of Health has not.” – he declared.
The minister also added that if the vaccine is confirmed to have passed all stages of testing and safety testing, then the Ministry of Health will talk about the purchase of any vaccine, not just Russian.
We will recall, earlier, that Russian President Vladimir Putin admitted the possibility of supplying a vaccine against the coronavirus to Ukraine, if the Ukrainian government wants to negotiate.
In addition, in early August, the first coronavirus vaccine was registered in Russia. Also in the Russian Federation began preparations for the registration of the second vaccine against COVID-19.
Earlier, the World Health Organization said it is too early to say that the Russian coronavirus vaccine can be used worldwide. Subsequently, WHO began negotiations with the Russian Federation on a vaccine.
