Ukraine has changed the criteria for the red zone

The Cabinet of Ministers changes the criteria for the red quarantine zone

The red zone will be announced where there will be 320 patients for every 100,000 of the population within two weeks.

When regions are included in the “red zone” of quarantine, a fixed incidence rate will be considered, and not a dynamic one, as before. This was announced at a government meeting on Tuesday October 13 by Health Minister Maxim Stepanov.

He pointed out that a clear indicator of morbidity has been determined when the administrative zone will pass to the “red level” of epidemiological danger.

“This is if the incidence rate for 14 days is more than 320 per 100,000 of the population. Before that, the indicator was dynamic five times higher than the corresponding national average,” Stepanov said.

As reported, the quarantine in Ukraine was extended until December 31, 2020. In addition, mass events with the participation of more than 50 people are prohibited throughout the country.

It was also reported that since midnight on October 12, a new epidemic zoning began operating in Ukraine for two weeks.
