Starting in January, the “minimum wage” will immediately increase to 6000 hryvnia
In the middle of next year, it is not worth raising the minimum wage to 6500 hryvnia, said the head of the financial committee.
The head of the financial committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Daniil Getmantsev, is in favor of postponing the increase of the minimum wage to 6,500 UAH from July 1 to December 1, 2021. He said this in an interview with TSN.
“There is pressure on the hryvnia. These are obvious things, because we are increasing (salaries – ed.) Drastically. However, I would not overestimate the budget losses from this decision. The budget losses we use to pay salaries to public sector employees charged to the budget are offset by the receipts imposed. That is, we do not expect any colossal negative impact on the budget, “said the popular deputy.
At the same time, he admitted that rising wages increase the burden on companies.
“In fact, by increasing wages, we can overshadow wages, when people will be transferred to part-time jobs and the like. Yes, there is a problem. So it seems to me that the optimal amount to increase salary is UAH 6 thousand, and not 6.5 thousand hryvnia. That is, I would have stopped at 6 thousand hryvnia, “said Getmantsev.
In this regard, he proposes to postpone the increase in the “minimum wage” to 6.5 thousand until December 1 of next year.
“So it seems to me that we would have passed this year normally. After all, this will have less effect on inflation and the tax burden on companies,” he added.
We will recall, since September 1 in Ukraine, the “minimum wage” was increased to 5000, and next year a double increase is expected: from January to 6000 UAH, and from July – to 6500 UAH.
The National Bank expects that after increasing the minimum wage by 30% in 2021, the average wage in the country is expected to increase by 15%.
