Some of the COVID-19 victims in Ukraine could live with diabetes and other comorbidities if they followed the precautions, says the head of the Ministry of Health, Maxim Stepanov.
Among the Ukrainians who died from the coronavirus infection, there were those who ignored the quarantine restrictions. This opinion was expressed in a briefing on October 13 by the Minister of Health of Ukraine, Maxim Stepanov, correspondent for the reports of the publication “GORDON”.
“Think about these numbers: we have 107 deaths per day … Some of them also believed that this was not necessary, that there was no need to wear masks. Some probably believed that there was no ‘covid’, that it was all notions, it is a kind of global conspiracy, “said the head of the Ministry of Health.
He stressed that among the deceased were those who suffered from concomitant diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, but that “they could have survived” if COVID-19 had not appeared.
Stepanov urged the Ukrainians to observe precautions against the epidemic.
As of October 13, 270,587 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Ukraine, of which 5,133 were in the last day. 5,122 COVID-19 patients died, 116,562 people were cured.
