The campaign for the reelection of US President Donald Trump for a second term insists on a debate on October 15. They must be done in face-to-face format.
Reported by CNN.
White House spokesman Brian Morgenstern said Trump was ready for debate, doctors allowed him to participate in public events.
“They said it no longer poses a risk of virus transmission, so it would be nice if the panel could reschedule the debate,” Morgenstern said.
We recall, previously, that the United States Presidential Debate Commission decided to cancel the second round of televised debates, which were scheduled for October 15.
At first, they discussed the possibility of having an online debate due to Trump’s coronavirus. However, the American leader opposed this format and refused to participate in it.
Note that Biden also declined to participate in the debate while Trump is sick with coronavirus.
Trump recently announced that he has fully recovered from COVID-19 and does not pose a threat in terms of transmitting the virus to others.
