The head of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine, Serhiy Shkarlet, spoke about the intention to transfer universities to distance education for the period from October 15 to November 15.
The Ministry of Education of Ukraine, together with the Ministry of Health, is preparing a proposal to declare the coronavirus-related holidays in schools for two weeks. The Minister of Education and Science Sergei Shkarlet announced it on October 11 on Telegram.
“Realizing all the responsibility entrusted to us before the country, we made a decision, according to which a letter of recommendation will be prepared tomorrow, October 12, and will be sent to all general secondary education institutions (regardless of the color of the territory). in quarantine) to establish holidays from October 15 to 30 inclusive, “he wrote.
The minister pointed out that universities will be recommended “to switch to distance education for the period from October 15 to November 15 with the compulsory departure of all students from the shelters.”
“At the same time, I consider it necessary to return the funds for accommodation to the students who left the hostels from October 15 to November 15,” Shkarlet emphasized.
He suggested that on October 13, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine would support such a proposal at its meeting.
“I would like to point out that preschool educational institutions will function as usual, taking into account all the recommendations of the Ministry of Health and the head of state sanitary doctor,” explained the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine.
School holidays as one of the ways to curb the epidemic on October 11 was discussed in a meeting with the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Several decisions were made at the meeting, which should improve the epidemic situation in the country.
