One of the victims of the explosions at the ammunition depots near Ryazan died in hospital, Sergei Kuzminov, head of the territorial center for disaster medicine, told TASS on October 11.

As Kuzminov pointed out, the condition of the rest of the victims is satisfactory, their lives are not in danger.

In all, 16 people were taken to hospitals after the explosions.

On October 7, in the village of Shelemishevskie Farmsteads in the Ryazan region, explosions began at the warehouses of the liquidated military unit. The cause of the fire, which triggered the detonation, was called the burning of nearby dry grass. More than 2.3 thousand residents were evacuated from 14 nearby settlements within a 5 km radius.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation reported that fires caused by ammunition explosions were eliminated on 9 October.
