Belarus will host a “Pride March” today, in connection with which the authorities are bringing military equipment to Minsk.

Eyewitnesses searched convoys of military and special equipment at the entrances to the capital, and armored vehicles with machine guns were seen in one of the districts.

The column of military equipment was also seen on Timiryazev Street, the drivers honked their horns behind it.

On Sunday, October 11, Belarusians will meet at 2:00 p.m. in the central streets of their cities and Minskers, near the Stele.

It should be noted that yesterday Alexander Lukashenko met with members of the Opposition Coordination Council who are being held in the KGB pre-trial detention center. The meeting was attended in particular by Victor and Eduard Babariko, lawyer, member of the Coordination Council Lilia Vlasova, businessman Yuri Voskresensky, political strategist Vitaly Shklyarov.

The situation in Belarus:

  • Presidential elections were held in Belarus on August 9. According to official CEC data, 80.1% of voters voted for Lukashenka and 10.1% for his main opponent, Tihanovskaya.
  • Following the announcement of the election results, protests spread throughout the country. Security agents arrest and use force against demonstration participants, open politically motivated cases against opponents.
  • The European Union did not recognize the election results and decided to impose sanctions on Belarusian officials responsible for falsifying the voting results and using violence against dissent.
  • Lukashenka’s secret inauguration took place on September 23 in Minsk.
