A recording of a conversation between the Belarusian opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya and her husband Sergei, who has been in jail for four months, has appeared online.
The corresponding entry was published by the Telegram channel “Rise”.
“I am holding out only because of the Belarusians. We cannot withdraw. I will not do this until all of you are released and we will not get the elections,” Svetlana Tikhanovskaya said.
“How is Macron? Merkel?” Her husband asked her.
“Good people. Support us. They do not recognize the legitimacy of a person, they believe in our victory, because our cause is just,” Svetlana replied.
“Well, well. I think everything will work out,” the opponent supported his wife.
“Maybe we’ll meet somewhere?” Tikhanovskaya asked.
“No. We must be tougher somehow,” added the husband.
“Tougher? I am concerned about all those in jail so that it does not affect you. But that means we will be tougher,” he concluded.
Franak Vyachorka, Tihanovskaya’s lawyer and personal adviser, after listening to the recording, concluded that there was someone else in the room with Sergei. The couple also spoke about the children and prison conditions.
We recall that the leader of the Belarusian opposition, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, called her husband for the first time in the last four months. This happened after Alyaksandr Lukashenka met his supporters at the KGB pre-trial detention center.
As reported by “Strana”, German Chancellor Angela Merkel met in Berlin with the leader of the Belarusian opposition, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya.
