On the eve of the fight against the owner of the WBC, WBO and WBA titles Vasily Lomachenko, the IBF world champion in the light division Teofimo López made a forecast for the fight, saying that he had no doubts that he could defeat the Ukrainian.
He spoke about this in an interview with Ringtv.
“The prognosis is definitely in my favor. We work very hard and hard for this. And this is just the beginning! I will come out the winner, whether it’s a judge’s verdict or a knockout,” Lopez said.
However, not all the experts in the boxing world agree with him.
For example, the father and trainer of WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney Bill said, “This is a great fight. Two families who are committed to the idea. I bet on Lomachenko for only one reason: quarantine.”
In his opinion, during the quarantine, López’s team lost their spirits for the fight.
“Just as words can be actions, silence can be a message. Lomachenko is silent and shows us – he works. But Teofimo only speaks,” said Bill Haney.
The Lomachenko – Lopez unification fight will take place the night of October 17-18. The meeting will take place in Las Vegas (USA) at the MGM Grand Arena.
Let us remind you that Ukrainian welterweight boxer Ivan Redkach said he would like his compatriot, Vasily Lomachenko, to lose to Teofimo Lopez in the next fight. Note that Redkach and Lomachenko are in conflict with each other. Ivan recently said that Lomachenko pushed him into the church with obscenities.
